Fire Department
The Concrete Volunteer Fire Department offers 24 hour fire protection to the Town of Concrete.
When its roster is full, the department consists of 25 members in four squads. The department has four captains, two assistant chiefs, and Chief Darrel Reed. The fire department is always looking for new firefighters. If you are interested, download this firefighter application, fill it out, and return it to Town Hall.
Law Enforcement
Town of Concrete contracts with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office for its law enforcement needs. The SCSO East Detachment is overseen by Sgt. Steven Dills and operates from its East Precinct, located next to Concrete Town Hall at 45672 Main Street. The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct also is responsible for coordinating search and rescue services for the entire county.

Baker River Hydroelectric Project
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) owns and operates the Baker River Hydroelectric Project situated in Skagit and Whatcom counties of Northwestern Washington State. The project boundary encompasses more than 8,400 acres, including the reservoirs of Lake Shannon and Baker Lake. The reservoir levels are controlled by three structures; Lower Baker Dam, Upper Baker Dam and West Pass Dike.
The Lower Baker Dam is a concrete thick-arch dam located within the town of Concrete. The dam is 285 feet high, 550 feet long and regulations the 7-mile long Lake Shannon reservoir. Construction of the Lower Baker Dam was completed in 1925.
